They gave me a design challenge assignment from home saying it should take 30 mins. Mainly, I need to make 4 system designs and explain. So definitely it takes 2-3 days. Still, I designed and submitted a challenge. After wasting 3 days, asking 2-3 times about the feedback, I got a call saying, I am not selected for the interview. They said we found someone who has more experience than me. It doesn't make sense as I applied for the Junior Mechanical Engineer position and for the readers' knowledge, I interned for the Bay area's one of the top innovative company. So it's hard to believe my design was not able to qualify. I gave 100% but seems this company doesn't care. I feel they took someone from reference. I suggest don't give design challenge. It's just time waste. I can see from the Glassdoor one Software engineer had the same experience as me. So I think I am not the only one. Also, I suggest the Focal system to change their interview process or else Glassdoor will be flooded with their negative response.
