We were given a talk on FDM as a company, which included a few participants voicing concerns they had read online whilst researching the company. The phrase "we're not bad people" was used in response to this regarding enforcement of the contract. Easy to understand both sides of this argument and having not been down the road with FDM I'm slightly relieved I didn't have the opportunity. This isn't to say it's impossible to have a good experience with them, I think it would depend on the person and other factors like employment location and who you're likely to work with. A couple of the sales team seemed like stereotypical wide boy characters and it was a bit of a surprise to see people like this working for an IT services company. That said, most people were pleasant and straightforward to deal with. Myself and another applicant were told at the end of the interview that we weren't suitable for the role which was more than likely based on our interviews as the tests couldn't have been marked in this time. I couldn't really get excited about working in finance and perhaps this was also evident in the other applicants interview. Without sounding too crass we seemed to be the only people there not in awe of the opportunity and who were asking the kind of questions that the company must routinely face, regarding enforcement of contract, and employment locations.
