Initial screener call from HR via Google Meet , except her microphone/sound wasn't working properly (we had to initially reschedule the meeting because of this) and spent the rest of the time communicating via chat. It was an absolutely bizarre and surreal experience which I feel hindered the entire process. It is not my fault that the talent acquisition person's set-up was faulty. We could have moved this to yet another day or used a plain old telephone call - you know, like we used to do in the olden days prior to Lockdown.
The follow-up email was inaccurate too - "thank you for speaking to us on the phone" - no. We did not speak.
"Unfortunately, the team has decided to move forward with other candidates as they closely fit what we are looking for." - How could they have possibly have ascertained this from a dodgy and badly managed screening "call"?
