Entretien
Initial 15-20 minute phone screening with HR then 3 separate 30 minute interviews with different Senior Merchants from departments within the company. HR was super informative and friendly! However with the merchants none of them were friendly and barely smiled which I was really surprised by, and it made them appear very standoffish as if I was causing a huge inconvenience to their day. Definitely not a group of people I would enjoy working with at all. One didn’t even ask me anything other than to tell her about myself. Overall I was very unimpressed with how the merchants handled the interviews. It was clear they only wanted someone with the exact experience already so they wouldn’t have to invest time into to training someone new. My experience was in store merchandising from a big retailer and the feedback was that I was better suited for store operations or visual merchandising. I was confused by that as well because one of the merchants literally had the exact same background as me working in the stores and was able to move directly into an assistant merchant role from the stores.
