I applied online for the position at the Expedia careers site. I got a response from a recruiter asking me to fill in a basic screening questionnaire. Once that was done, the recruiter got back to me requesting to take up a phone interview in 3 days.
The phone interview went OK. I was asked about my current work experience, technologies I have been working on and a few more such basic questions. Then I was asked actual technical/coding questions for up to 45 minutes. I got back a response in 2 days saying they wanted someone whose technologies more closely matched their requirements.

Took 2 weeks the process. very slow. The recruiter not following up quick. Interviewer not pay attention and play IPhone games. The coding is very detail oriented. also have some design issues and testing questions.

Phone screen. Was aked to write code for a couple of question in a shared screen. Total time of the interview was about an hour. Asked me to describe my algorithm and why I chose the way I did the coding.

Got call from consultant for Expedia Hiring event on November. After shortlisting of resume I had direct face to face interview with Expedia. It was a whole day process with multiple technical face to face interviews.
Expedia people look specifically for people who are good in Data Structures and Algorithm for SDET position. Interview is no less than Developer. Problem solving skills are also important to crack the interview
