      Entretien pour Software Engineer

I had two 45+ minute phone interviews. They weren't very technically challenging. In the first on-site interview I met with 6 people during a 4 hour window. I went through a variety of programming challenges, they were not very difficult (Though I don't think I did great with them). The second on-site interview was another 4 hour block, though it was entirely remote with the team in SF. This time only 2 of the 6 interviews were technical; the others were more QA about myself and the company. The technical questions were not really difficult. I would describe them as intermediate logic problems. The Good: Everyone throughout the whole process was super friendly. That was the main thing that kept me interested in interviewing. The culture seems genuinely people-oriented. Why I'm dissapointed with eventBrite. HOWEVER, The interview process was long. I spent over 10 hours interviewing for this position. I took a time off work, which including travel time, was two full days of unpaid time I would have been working. The final recruiter said that I would receive a thorough response with feedback and explanation via a personal phone call if I wasn't hired I am not upset about not getting an offer. I figured even if I didn't get it, I would receive some insightful and helpful feedback, but I got wopping two sentence "We didn't think you were a good fit." I deserved more than a two sentence rejection email.

I really appreciate this feedback, and I'm sorry to hear your interview experience was less than ideal. This is certainly not the candidate experience we strive for, and we are committed to always improving. We recently hired two new Technical Recruiters, both of whom share our continued commitment to candidate experience. One of their first focus areas will be improving our Engineering interview experience as we scale globally. Your feedback will be helpful as we make changes. Please feel free to contact me directly if you'd like to discuss in further detail. -Bryan Mayes, Director of Software Engineering

The process was smooth, easy. People very nice. Ive gone through 3 interviews. One technical which was easy, pair programming. Another one with the manager and a person from product, and another one system design. I did all them very good. But after a week i got an email from hr where they said that i would fit better for SD 1, and they offered me 10k less. I have askes for concrete feedback but no response

The hiring process felt highly impersonal overall. My first interaction was a formal but adequate interview with an HR representative. Following that, I completed a moderately challenging technical assessment on HackerRank, which I successfully passed. However, I had to follow up myself to inquire about the status of my application, as there was no proactive communication. Eventually, the recruiter reached out to ask for my availability for the next two weeks, which I promptly submitted. Surprisingly, I received a notification less than 12 hours before the next round, asking me to be available the following day for a series of interviews lasting approximately 5-6 hours. Given the short notice, I was unable to accommodate this request and had to decline. From that point on, the interaction felt increasingly robotic and rushed. The recruiter continued to send impersonal messages urging me to provide new availability, sign an NDA, and “jump on a quick call” to discuss scheduling. Yet, when I responded, I rarely received any acknowledgment or follow-up, leaving me feeling undervalued as a candidate. Fortunately, I accepted an offer from another company and informed the recruiter. Predictably, I received no acknowledgment or response. While I understand the pressures of today’s competitive job market, every candidate deserves to be treated with respect and fairness. Effort and time invested in an application process should not feel disregarded, and candidates should not be made to feel like commodities in a marketplace. Overall, this was a disappointing and poorly managed experience.
