The recruiter and the hiring manager were totally out of sync. The recruiter told me there would be no writing samples or writing test needed, and the interview was really to just get a feel for my personality. She also said they would be moving fast and they would have a final decision the day after the interviews. However, the total opposite happened. During the panel interview, I was surprised with a writing assessment mid-interview. Then, my scheduled one hour call with the manager turned into almost two hours of him pressing me with random questions about both my personal and professional life. I expressed my optimism for the opportunity and the chance to work on help content, and he begrudgingly told me all my work will just help the rich get richer. After almost two hours, he asked me for writing samples and had his employees schedule another writing assessment with me the next day to "prove I can actually write." This company took so much of my time in the interview process and then they totally ghosted me. They didn't even have the courtesy to tell me no. I truly hope no other candidates will be put through something like this.
