Applied online in October of 2011. Was notified by email about an interview. Was on vacation and didn't have access to the internet and missed the interview. Called the talent acquisition specialist and was able to get the interview moved to another location. Initial interview did not take place until mid January, the interview was by phone. Early February had a face to face interview with the talent acquisition specialist. In mid February had a face to face interview at the branch office. First two interviews and observation went very well and seem promising. However, with the last face to face at the branch the manager (who was close to my age and drove the same distance to get there) informed me within the first five minutes of the interview that I wasn't a good fit because of the distance I had to drive. I did my best to sell myself as capable and the distance not being an issue, even agreed to move closer to the branch location within two months of hire. Three days later got an email that said they were pursuing other candidates. My advice to anyone applying for this position is to always say your favorite job had to do with sales. Sell yourself as capable, energetic, and flexible...you must come off as a go-getter. I had read that Enterprise does not like to hire older adults and if this is the case I think Enterprise would do well to re-evaluate their hiring process. I am young for my age, I am determined, flexible, and energetic. I have commuted to many jobs harder than the work at Enterprise and it was never an issue for me. I also noticed there were far more men working there than women (only one woman). That alone gives me pause. Women can do that job just as effectively as men. I do wish they would have let me have that next interview to give me the opportunity to sell myself further, it might have changed the manager's mind.
