      Entretien

I received a phone call from the manager for this group. He had read my resume and asked me questions about work I had done for different companies. I have over 20 years experience mostly in embedded realtime sw development with some hw. We seemed to agree on a lot of things, including his company's method of developing their product. It appeared some of my experience with sensors was also an area the company needed more expertise. I was enthusiastic and was hopeful the hiring process would move forward with Enlightened. A week later I was asked to come in and meet with the manager. When I got there I met with an IT guy instead. He didn't have a copy of my resume and it didn't seem like he had even looked at it. After some preliminary conversation where he made a point of correcting me a couple of times he put a technical problem on the white board. It was a trivial problem where the numbers that occurred in two arrays had to be found. I quickly wrote out the algorithm for it and showed him the problem was much simpler than he first thought. One aspect of the interview I didn't like was the intrusive, somewhat personal questions this person asked. He didn't ask me questions about my accomplishments but instead asked me questions that made me feel uncomfortable. My take away from this experience is that this person is immature and doesn't feel he has to treat people with respect. He was unprepared for the interview. After waiting for several minutes a French lady, who is a student at a local university and working as an intern came in. She had my resume, was very pleasent, and asked a lot of good technical questions. Another 5 -10 Min. of waiting and the manager I had talked to on the phone came in. He was there for about a minute before he got a phone call. He told me it was the CEO and he had to leave. The French lady came back after a few minutes and told me the interview was over. It did appear to me the workers at this company were stressed out. No one in the office smiled or acknowledged me and everyone kept their head down. Their desks were all jammed close together but it looked like the executives had nice offices.
