I genuinely really enjoyed the interview process! There was a take home coding challenge and 3 interviews with the current team. The challenge was interesting, was not too difficult but did require a degree of thoughtfulness instead of blindly applying some algorithm that you've learned. I enjoyed getting to know the team and the existing projects through the 1-on-1s. I also appreciated that they took the time to go through the challenge and gave me helpful feedback. The conversation felt collaborative, where I'm thinking through the improvement steps myself with some of the hints the engineering team gave. Overall, it was fun and I walked out learning a couple things that could make me a better engineer. Another thing I appreciated was how thoughtful and involved the hiring team was. They really spent the time to get to know you as a person, your career goals, ambition, and how Emerald as a company can help you get there.
