I applied online and received a call from the hiring manager within 2 weeks. The hiring manager gave me a brief description of the job, the health insurance industry and asked me to go over my resume. I was invited for an on-site interview two weeks later. The environment I encountered was unprofessional, disorganized, and uninterested. The panel was supposed to consist of five members, only 3 showed up to the interview. One of the panel members arrived 15 minutes late and refused to shake my hand upon entering the conference room. The HM asked the exact same questions in person that he did on the telephone. There were no prepared questions. I expect a professional interview with questions to assess my skill sets and other behavioral questions, none of which were asked. I was told that I would hear something back in a week, it has been 3 weeks and I have heard nothing, no offer and no rejection. This environment seems suitable for someone in an entry-level career or without any true professional experience. Buyer beware, Anthem is a good insurance company, but appears to be nothing but folks masquerading as business people inside of its offices. Stay away.
