First Skype interview, then they paid me a flight to Heidelberg, I was invited to give a 40 minute talk on my current research, then 1:1 interviews with the research group members. the interview included questions from my presentation talk and they asked to see some of my code

Talk directly with the group leader for the project details. Everything was smooth. Questions are fair enough for the student who would like to do a research based internship. But better prepare for yourself in order to answer specific background regarding the group.
