I applied for drybar November 2017 and did not hear from them until July 2018. Understandably, I had forgotten about it entirely, but when I saw an email for an interview I responded. The email did state that it would be a group interview so that came as no shock. After reading a couple of the interview reviews here on glassdoor I had an idea of what questions would be asked and how to go about them. It was actually fun and I liked the people in my group. We exchanged social media (keep this in mind if you decide to interview because it came in handy). After the group interview we had individual interviews, but the managers did not time them properly because by the time I got to my one on one the next batch of group interviews was already there and waiting. The only questions that were asked related to my availability and if I would be willing to come in the following day for a sort of field test. I agreed and received an email late that night providing the time and address. The total time for the interview including group and individual was over 2 hours. The field interview was pretty easy, though I was told to come in at 11 AM and didn't actually get started until 12 PM. One of the managers from the previous day was there and told us (a girl from a different group interview and I) to interact with the guests in the chair. "Find out their names. Why are they here? Is it their first time? Is it for a special occasion?" --standard and easy especially since there were only 4 clients in the chairs. Then we were told a bit about the system and computers and jumped right into assisting incoming guests. We were both assertive and welcomed the guests while filling out tickets and checking them in with only 5 minutes of training. At the end of the 30 or so minutes field test the manager pulled us aside and told both of us that not only did we get the position, but to expect a call within 24 hours with the details of location, pay, and schedule. The girl and I also exchanged social media. I say all this because they NEVER CALLED ME. The people from my group interview and field test were all told similar things with no response. How could a company which claims that honesty, humility, and kindness are part of it's core values and culture be so inconsiderate to prospective employees?? I am completely insulted and upset that my time was wasted and my hopes were up for a company that could not even contact me. I waited more than a week to post this because I still had hope, but the silence is deafening. It was an overall disappointing experience and if you decide to do it take down everyone's name, social media, and business cards. Knowing that I was not the only person lied to and ignored made me feel marginally better about wasting my time.

I applied online and got a call a few days later. I was brought in for an interview and received word a few days later about the position and the hours saying that they wanted to hire me. During this call they said that even though I wanted weekdays they could currently only hire me for friday/saturday/sunday, but I would get first pick of shifts that would open up during the week as they got busier. I accepted the job and then didn't hear from them for a week, when they told me that they had gotten a different girl for weekdays and that my position was strictly "on call". The interview itself was easy and good but the management seems to be disorganized and don't really know whats going on.
