      One manager reached out and set up the technical chat. Recruiter was polite and helpful. However, the phone interview experience was very disappointing. Signed NDA so I cannot disclose the exact question. It was a project that requires designing the components and implementing the feature. There were some red flags I saw. You get about 50 minutes to implement an project from end to end. It has a specific design spec, backend and front end component. The problem is that the interview project prioritizes speed over many other considerations —offline caching, network handling, threading.. 1. The interviewer is not experienced. I had an interviewer and another engineer who reverse shadow him. Halfway through the project, it was clear to me that he did not have the technical depth to talk about some of the design considerations. Things include rendering on layer or fast caching are new to him. 2. An emphasis on speed over product quality Interviews mentioned a few times how fast they are moving. When I asked them how they manage their testing pipeline and avoid backward compatible changes, I found out that they do not have any mechanism in place to prevent that from happening. Just ask them a few industry-standard questions on CI/CD and you will find out their operational process is quite poor. I would steer clear.
