      Entretien

D1M (Division 1 Marketing)/Innovative Marketing goes by many names. If you do a quick search of the company, you come to the realization that there is a lot written, but nothing of substance about the company on the website. I didn't really mind it though being as I was a recent graduate and testing the waters for the job market in Pittsburgh. The office is barren - only a receptionist and one office that is shared by 3 individuals who all claim to be the CEO or hiring manager etc. Honestly it's all very sketchy. You spend the first day with an interview about your qualifications and talking about the career path you can embark on etc. After I was interviewed they asked me back for a job shadow the next day and I accepted. While I was home I did a little more digging - I came to realize that this is more of a sales job than I expected but they expressly state on their website that this is not a "traveling sales job". I'm expecting to come back the next day and sit in some office space making sales calls. Instead, I was forced to spend the day with two of the most vulgar individuals I have ever met, and I don't get shocked easily. They were using racial slurs, cursing non-stop, and talking about graphic sexual content, all the while I am in the back seat waiting for the day to end. At 9AM on day two, without warning me ahead of time, they drove two hours outside of Pittsburgh to sell Verizon to small businesses in a very rural town with zero interest in purchasing Verizon. There was no way to end the interview as I was stuck riding along with them. We didn't return to pittsburgh until 5:45PM. It was easily the longest and worst day of my life. I was offered the job, but turned them down as I didn't want anything to do with this company, nor did I spend the last four years obtaining a bachelor's degree to be a traveling salesman working on 100% commission. It was all very misleading - watch out for them!
