Short interview process - 3 rounds on Zoom. First chat was high level with a recruiter who didn’t know too much about the space, second was with Head of dept, final with wider team (I believe). Had a good connection with both recruiter and dept head and received feedback relating to the role which was overwhelmingly positive; all role specific stuff I addressed, excelled in delivering and was told I was perfect for the role in terms of experience. I was rejected due to being too “alternative” and I was unprofessionally late to the call (2 minutes, because the recruiter failed to send me the link until the time of the meeting). Quite clearly a rejection based on homophobia given the role specific requirements I exceeded but the rejection was based on a farce of excuses. This company clearly has no commitment to diversity and the spiel on their ads is a lie.
