As someone in my mid-30s with over a decade in corporate presales, this was one of the more unprofessional recruiter interactions I’ve experienced. My call with Yas felt rushed, disengaged, and poorly structured from the outset. He appeared uninterested, asked surface-level questions, and didn’t provide clear information about the role, team, or expectations. Midway through the call, Yas switched off his camera and didn’t turn it back on, which came across as dismissive and lacking basic professionalism — especially when candidates are expected to remain fully engaged. There was also no follow-up after the interview, despite being told I would hear back. Communication overall felt inconsistent and transactional, with minimal effort to create a professional candidate experience. I also noticed two other reviews on Glassdoor describing very similar interactions, which suggests this may not be an isolated experience. Overall, the interaction felt disorganised, disengaged, and easily one of the worst recruiter experiences I’ve had.

Although I was initially interested in Deel, I held some skepticism walking into the interview process based purely on some of the reviews I had read on here. Unfortunately, my experience confirmed those doubts. I went through three rounds of interviews, which included delivering an assessment presentation. Typically, I politely decline take-home assignments due to how frequently companies abuse case studies for free labor nowadays. To Deel's credit, they at least understood the concept of timeboxing and were upfront about the assignment, but the good news stops there. During the presentation, the interviewers fundamentally failed to understand how their own "roleplaying" scenario didn't fit the actual mechanics of the position. If you are interviewing someone for a Solutions Consultant (SC) role, you shouldn't expect them to take on the persona of an Account Executive (AE) while walking through a deck. Despite me explicitly leading with this context, clearly defining my core focus as an SC before diving in, there was zero response to my explanation from the AE on the call. Following the presentation, I was told I would receive next steps within 48 hours. It has now been two weeks of total silence, so it is safe to assume I have been ghosted. Even if it isn't intentional ghosting, it sends an incredibly poor signal about how the company values a candidate's time, proving they feel it's perfectly fine to just let things drift. This effectively marks the withdrawal of my candidacy. When a company acts in this manner after requiring multiple rounds and extensive presentation prep, it really makes you wonder if they ever had a true intent to hire, or if they were simply looking to leverage the candidate experience for free IP. I have been nothing but gracious and patient throughout this entire process. It would have taken five minutes for someone to provide a simple update, but instead, Deel chose two weeks of silence, which completely killed any interest I had. It is a total bewilderment to me because the tech world can be small. I might be your competition one day, and now I have ammo against you that did not exist a week ago.
