A rather peculiar coding test experience:
* Despite being assured there wouldn't be a test akin to DomeTest, I was surprised to encounter one that followed those clichés was my test.
* The owner asked me to connect my computer to a big monitor in front of us and hover nearby, scrutinizing every breath and keystroke, while another employee took notes on the sidelines. Needless to say, it was incredibly distracting.
* Initially informed the test would last 90 minutes and Google was fair game, I was abruptly dismissed a mere 15 minutes into it.
* In essence, if the owner doesn't approve of your approach, you're swiftly shown the door, regardless of the allotted time. It's unclear what exactly meets his standards.
* This was undeniably the most awkward and futile interview process I've witnessed in my 20 years in the field.
Overall, considering the accounts shared here about this individual, I'm relieved it didn't pan out. It seems like a potentially problematic working environment.
