I must say, I am very disappointed with Datadog’s recruitment team. After reading other people’s experiences it seems to me that nothing has changed and I am not the only one. Firstly the recruiter showed up 6-7 minutes late, quick apology, however she sounded very robotic, reading off a script, not once tried to connect with me on a personal or human level, especially after I mentioned what happened to me in my last two jobs. She sounded like she had no interest in my experiences, career ambitions or simply just me. Even after her being late, I couldn’t ask a single question as everything was just so rushed. Funny enough I received a email from them with the message that they won’t be proceeding further with my application. Since I can’t reply to your “noreply” emailaddress, I wouldn’t ever want to be a part of such a company who actually makes you feel like just another number on the spreadsheet. So so disappointed as I always heard great things about the company and their products. Message for the recruitment team: if you are having a bad day, take the day off. You are a brand ambassador of the company as you are a candidate’s first point of contact- first impression is last impression. The market is tough for many of us, be kind, show a little bit of empathy and your human side.
