One of the worst hiring experiences I have ever had.
The recruitment process took nearly three months, only to end in a rejection.
I attended an online interview on September 28, which lasted about 1 hour and 10 minutes. The interview went well, and I was informed that I would be given a challenging task to assess my skills. However, after waiting for almost three weeks with no response, I had to follow up via email. Only then did they send me the task the next day.
I completed and submitted the task on October 27. After that, they scheduled another interview on November 3, where they discussed my task and asked questions related to it. At the end of this interview, they explicitly said they were happy and impressed with my work and told me that the HR team would contact me within one week.
Unfortunately, another 2–3 weeks passed with no communication. When I finally followed up again, I was informed that they had already hired someone else.
Rejection itself is completely acceptable. However, giving false hope, delaying communication, and failing to respect a candidate’s time is highly unprofessional. A simple and timely update would have made a significant difference.
Overall, this was a poorly managed and unprofessional hiring process.
