I applied to Dicks and got an email a couple days later stating that my application was not considered. I figured they tossed it because I had a B.A. and would be overqualified. I got a phone about a month after the email and the assistant manager asked me to come in for an interview. The interview was fine. It was informal. He printed out a packet and asked me typical situational question. "have you ever dealt with an angry customer" "did you ever go above and beyond to assist a customer". They made me take a test after the interivew. The manager said to come back next week for a 2nd interview with the store manager. I came back the next week and the store manage gave me more details about the job. He said he wants someone to replace a lead because the lead would be promoted. I thought in my head "that's why I got called back after the email denied me employment". They wanted me to replace the lead probably because I had a B.A. The store manager asked more situational questions and afterwards placed my information into the system. We negotatiated salary and that was it.

Interview process is easy going and not meant to be intimidating. When I walked in they were welcoming and it was a non stressful environment. Not bad at all but still would prepare before going in.

Initially I spoke with the AA over the phone and answered some questions. Then, I met with two different managers before being hired. Overall the interview process was very straight forward.
