The interview process began with a conversation with one of the interviewers. They appeared somewhat disengaged at the start and asked me to wait for a few minutes so they could finish replying to emails. I was informed that they hadn’t had time to review my CV and were not familiar with my skills or experience beforehand. The discussion was mostly about my past work and projects I’ve been involved in. I was asked some standard data engineering questions, along with one question that was more of a brainteaser than a technical challenge. I was told the role was fairly broad and could also involve business intelligence work. The interviewer did not provide much detail about the company’s goals, vision, or the specifics of the position I had applied for. Only in the final 10 minutes, when I was able to ask my own questions, did I learn more about the company.
