Very thoughtful and thorough interview process. One of their technical recruiters reached out via LinkedIn to initiative the process.
A phone screen with the Recruiter was followed up high-level technical talk/screen with a current engineer, wherein we discussed my general background and he answered questions about the company. There was little if any coding done here, but they ask pretty deep (and interesting) technical questions about the programming language as well as SWE principles in general. They seem to intentionally ask more and more difficult questions until they find technical areas wherein you're weaker.
Any missed questions/concepts were noted, and I was asked to prepare answers for those questions/concepts for a short follow-up interview, which occurred a few days later. This follow-up was with a different engineer, and was more of a collaborate discussion of my findings than a high-pressure interview.
Finally, there's a classic, several hour (virtual) on-site, where you actually code through problems with various engineers, as well as meet various stakeholders in the team/company.
In all, I found the interview process very fair, transparent, and efficient. The engineers who work at CBX clearly pride themselves on mastering their craft and that was evident with everyone with whom I interviewed. On top of that they all came across as genuine, thoughtful, and empathetic human beings.
Ultimately, I accepted a different offer for a fully remote position, but would have otherwise been thrilled to work and grow here.
