The process is super lengthy but they move very fast. You give it all, with excellent track record, great past experiences, process, technical problems solved but the interview panel is not strong that they get threatened by your ability that you will outshine them so they reject you and not give an offer. You will clearly see that people who interviewed really were below average than you. The company claims to have an open and honest culture, but do not take it seriously.

My interview experience with Confluent can best be described as a frustrating journey that ultimately felt like a waste of time. It began promisingly when a recruiter reached out and invited me to start the interview process. The initial stages were smooth and professional, consisting of a hiring manager screen followed by a two-hour technical interview.
However, the situation took a turn for the worse when the recruiter handling my case left the company. This departure created a communication vacuum, and I found myself waiting for a week without any updates. Only after I proactively reached out did I learn that I had passed the technical interview and needed to complete a three-hour behavioral interview.
The preparation for this behavioral interview, or lack thereof, was particularly problematic. Despite the significant time commitment required, no one provided information about the topics or format of the interview. As a result, I went into the first hour of the behavioral interview completely unprepared. Although I managed to have what felt like a good conversation with the interviewer, the lack of guidance was unsettling.
It was only after this initial hour that someone finally took the time to brief me on what to expect in the remaining two hours of the behavioral interview.
Following the completion of all interview stages, I was once again left in the dark. Despite being told that the behavioral interview was the final stage, I heard nothing for two weeks. This prolonged silence further reinforced the impression that candidate care was not a priority for the company, or maybe they don’t really care if they can hire someone for that position.
It's worth noting that some of the interviewers I encountered were impressively intelligent and professional. However, their positive qualities were overshadowed by the overall disorganization and poor management of the recruitment process.
In conclusion, while the opportunity initially seemed promising and some individuals stood out positively, the interview process as a whole was very frustrating and turned out to be a big waste of time. ( took 2 months, most of time left in the dark waiting)
