      Entretien

I have had an absolutely negative experience with this company. I sent them a completed test task one month ago, and I haven't received any response. They also don't answer the follow-up emails. It looks like it's a scam, and all candidates are just doing their work as a test task.

Hi there, We would firstly like to thank you for your feedback and sincerely apologise for the delay in our response. We have received a vast number of applications for this role and it is taking our team time to review and respond to candidates. The task candidates are asked to complete is a vital stage of our shortlisting process and we really appreciate all the time and effort you and others have put into the application. The task is designed to be a reflection of the kind of work candidates would be expected to do if they were successful in the application. As an agency with over 100 clients that has been working with Drupal and CiviCRM for over 10 years, we can assure candidates that their submissions are not for production purposes. We chose to ask applicants to complete a task using the tools we work with at Compuco as we want candidates to know the the sorts of technologies they will be working with before they join, which helps them to decide whether or not the role would be right for them, whereas a generic task which some other organisations may use would not provide a true representation of the products we work with. We hope this helps clarify any misunderstandings. If you have any further questions or concerns we would welcome you to contact us at workforus@compuco.io. Kind regards,

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Compuco

      Entretien

Sadly my experience aligns with other interview reviews at Compuco. To put it shortly, it feels like a scam where Compuco is simply giving out production work masked as 'test tasks'. More details in the 'Interview questions' section. I've gotten no reply back from Compuco, 3 weeks after applying and handing in the test results, and I don't expect any reply going forward as I did reach out, twice, and both times the HR reply can be summarized as 'I haven't heard back from the team' and giving a clear message of 'stop inquiring until then'. I don't know how someone on the HR team who is clearly involved in the interview process could not give me an estimated time frame for a reply when asked nor how the same person does not know anything about the results, two weeks after the fact.

      Question 1

The test e-mail handed out a Google Docs share link. Not the first time a company chooses this option to share a test so it is not a problem. What was the (first) problem is that the Google Docs still displayed the number of people checking out the document. I believe I've counted 10 other people reading the same document at one time, being shown as 'Anonymous'. While it is understandable that companies will hand out tests to multiple candidates at a time, it shows a clear lack of professionalism to have this visible to the candidate and to not take steps to rectify this (this could be avoided by handing out the .PDF format but that would take additional work by exporting the document from Google Docs). The second problem was the test environment, it very much seemed like a complete product but we were only assigned a single area to test, relationship based connections between entities. The problem with this test structure is that all candidates were given a single test account, shared between them (at least 10 candidates) which was creating problem within the environment (test data disappearing and appearing randomly as multiple people were using the environment at a time). Again this wouldn't be a problem and would be a realistic setting, if not for the number of times my test data kept being lost due to erroneous deletes from other candidates (I don't believe this was on purpose but sadly this highlights the lack of professionalism). The third problem is the document itself, that gives contradicting functionality definitions to the testers. Two definitions are given for a relationship type, i.e. (not exact replication from the document) 1. relationships of X type must have a start date and an end date >=0 2. relationships of Y type must have a start date and end date = 0 The >=0, =0 overlap only served to confuse testers. I've given feedback on all of the above, but must emphasize again that no response was given.
