      Entretien

I was coming from public accounting and therefore transferring into a different industry and different type of accounting role. Since they had my resume, and selected me for an interview, you would assume they would see if I had a willingness to learn since I came from big 4. Even when I saw the job posting, I knew I wasn't as qualified as others who have been financial analysts, but it seemed interesting, and like I said, they should be gauging how fast I can learn. In fact, in the beginning of the interview, the interviewers literally said: it's okay if you don't have an answer or specific experience related to our questions because WE KNOW YOU ARE COMING FROM BIG 4. .... ..... .... Then they proceed to ask me the most specific, task-oriented question that relates to the job, but nothing I would have experience in working at a big 4 instead of a corporation. I always provide an answer to an interview question, even if I don't have one. But this question, was so specific, unrelated to my past experience, and so I told them: honestly, I don't have any experience in that since I was in audit and advisory at a big 4 firm... so.... The interviewer proceeded to ask me if I did anything like that in college. college. this man is asking about college. The college I graduated from 4 years ago? And what do you think they actually teach us in college? After he said that, I was done with the interview. It was clear that these were some corporate hacks who have been siloed into their company, industry, and role, and have no greater insight or perspective. Go touch some grass man. College... you gotta be kidding me. I knew I couldn't work with these guys, they are clueless on the real world.
