The initial communication from them was excellent, they were timely in responding to my application, set up an initial interview, and pretty immediately asked me to move on to the next round which was to put together a deck for a research project. The initial interview was done by someone who had only recently joined the company and could not really answer a lot of my questions about culture, etc. It also felt like he was pushing me to talk badly about one of my previous companies since he knew about them. Overall awkward interview and I would suggest either training your interviewers more or using someone who is better at that/didn't just join the company a month ago.
For the research deck they asked me to put together, they promised me a $30 giftcard for my time which I thought was a nice gesture. I spent many hours putting it together and felt it was worthy of a director level report. I felt really confident turning it in. I then didn't hear from them for a week, and then received a rejection email. This was super confusing as I know my deck was strong and I asked for feedback on it. They ghosted me which wasn't a surprise, but then they never gave me the gift card they promised for my time. Honestly makes me think they just needed free labor on a slide deck and likely used my work to pass off as their own.
