My initial interview was a dream.
The rationale behind them creating this role demonstrated a company that listen to their employees and value the people who work for them.
The money wasn't great but I fell in love with the company.
It took weeks to get to second stage for various reasons, during which time I declined job offers as I really wanted to be a part of this company.
Eventually we arranged a phase 2 interview and it was the single most humiliating experience I've had on a professional level.
The person in charge asked me probing and inappropriate questions regarding my mental health, even going so far as to say they didn't want to hire someone who would go off sick. They stated that they had hired people who has not declared any history regarding mental health and then 3 months into their employment would take time off stating stress as the reason.
As far as I'm concerned if the people hired were consistently taking time off due to stress then it might be a reflection of the working environment rather than employees not declaring a history of mental illness.
The person in charge even told me I was unemployable.
