J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Cisco en janv. 2015

      Entretien

There were three rounds of interview. First round: It was a Webex meeting with an experienced Systems Engineer. It was a 30 minute informal call where he asked about my background, what did I do in my professional life, university, if I had any Certs and he asked me to sell him an iPhone, because this is a pre-sales position. The first thing you need to ask is what does he need an iPhone for. Second round Was a video presentation where they asked me to explain in under two minutes a technical concept, in my case it was SDN. Third round: This was the most difficult part. I received an e-mail three weeks in advance to help me prepare for this interview. It was going to be a full day at Cisco with a technical exam, HR interview, presentation and a role play meeting. They assign you four assessors to assess you during the day. The technical exam is really basic and if you're already into networking you won't have any problems. The HR interview is your regular interview with behavioural questions like tell me about one time you led a team, tell me about one time you followed a leader, one time you had to convince someone of something, etc. They saw that I already worked with networking and asked me to draw something in the whiteboard. I can't stress this enough: they love the whiteboard. Some friends who did this interview in past years told me this and I saw for myself, they really like it. Draw something on it and let your networking lingo fly. The final question was why should you be selected. They ask you to bring four CVs and I took five because unexpected things might occur, you never know. The presentation (topic provided in advance) was more like a conversation. I started talking and they started asking questions, it was nice. I made some handouts in photoshop and printed in color in a thicker paper and they seemed to like it. They saw it showed them that I really took the time to prepare for the interview. They read the handouts and asked questions about some of the things that I wrote. It was the fastest part of the day. If you don't take a handout, write on the board. They said in the preparation material itself that 60% of all communication is visual. Take it and use in your favor. The last part of the day was the roleplay meeting. You should spend most of your time preparing for this part because it's the most important. Again you're encouraged to bring a handout or use the board, preferrably the handout because it will also help as auxiliar memory. They will give you some info on a fictional company and you must research all the information about products you could sell to them and what about other companies in its industry are doing. This is important because they will test your reactions. They asked me a question and I said "people in industry X are doing like this" and he said "industry X? ok..." and then pulled his phone out of his pocket and started doing something with it, as if I just said the most boring thing in the planet. Keep your nerves and talk to the other guy if he's still paying attention or change subject as fast as possible. Also, they go prepared to not buy the Cisco gear you're selling so you have to be prepared to argue why and how Cisco will solve his problem. They said that they bought the same solution from another vendor but people in the company wasn't using it so what made me think that they would start using Cisco's solution? Don't lie or make up data, they can spot it because they probably know much more about the products than you and it will really sound bad. The last obvious thing is go well dressed, adjust your suit, polish your shoe, get a haircut, trim your beard and nails because the first thing they need to buy is you. Good Luck!

First talking to recruiter, then a quick call answering some "technical questions". After which there were some exercises and a video to record on a topic. And the last step was a half day of interviews, roleplays and short exam on site
