I had a 30 minute screening call with a recruiter in HR – pretty standard technical management questions but the interviewer was friendly, gave me lots of good insight to the nature of the company, and answered all of the questions I had for him at this stage.
Next step was a 1-hour call with the VP of Engineering. Again, pretty standard management questions about my experience as well as long discussion about the role, culture, expectations, etc. Really enjoyed this conversation as well.
I was informed the next day that they wouldn't be proceeding with my application but gave me some very good feedback not only on specifics they were looking for that were out of line with my own experience but also some very positive feedback on aspects of my profile that they really liked.
Ultimately though this wasn't successful it was a shining example to me of how interviews *should* be done – quick answers, good feedback for a candidate to take away and apply to their own professional development, and a positive experience overall. CircleCI seems like a great place to work and I'll definitely keep my eye on their careers page in the future.
