I was reached out to by a recruiter shortly after applying for the position. I had the first interview which was bleak, transactional, and very impersonal. She asked me zero questions regarding my experience, didn't shed any light on the company or the position. Other than that, the interview went well in my opinion. I then received an email informing me that they wanted me to move onto the next round which was a 45 minute interview with the hiring manager. I received this email on a Monday, and they gave me two time slots for that Wednesday and Thursday. I was very busy and honestly forgot to respond, but then Thursday morning, I received the generic email stating they went with another candidate. If they truly were interested in my candidacy, they would have sent a follow-up email to their request for the second interview. Overall just a very unprofessional way they handled it.
