      Entretien pour Business Development Manager

      28 févr. 2018
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Newton, MA
      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via une agence de recrutement. Le processus a pris 3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Catalyst Online (Newton, MA) en avr. 2014

      Entretien

Introduced through a 3rd party recruiter. Was invited onsite for 1-1 interviews and also asked to make a presentation on any topic. Ten minutes into the presentation, I was asked to stop so the panel could bring a member from the Executive Team into the meeting. We restarted the presentation and about 5 minutes later we were kicked out of the conference room so another group could meet. The hiring manager apologized about the room issues, but reassured me he and the others really enjoyed my presentation and style. Following the interview, the hiring manager said he wanted to bring me back the next week for one final interview. A week later, on Good Friday, I was invited back on site. The hiring manager said "Good news and bad news for you. The bad news, the parent company pushed our hand and forced us to hire an internal candidate, but the good news, you were the top candidate and clearly the best. We're going to have a second position in 3 months and you are our guy." While the face-to-face communication was a nice gesture, the hiring manager was completely inconsiderate of my time and money (had to take time off from work and rent a car). We agreed to keep in touch and I shared the news with the staffing agency, whom was highly irritated and misled by the hiring company. Three months later I received a random call from the HR. "We have some great news. That position we talked about three months ago has been approved and the role is yours." After three weeks of attempting to coordinate the interview (including two cancellations by the company), I was finally onsite for what the HR representative said was a 'formality'. If round 1 exposed some of the company's warts, round 2 demonstrated the company was highly unprofessional, disorganized, and incompetent. I met with a newly hired employee and was completely unimpressed. The person said they didn't know what they were doing and was glad they knew someone internally. With my eyes rolling in disbelief, I was ready to politely leave, but didn't want to be disrespectful, thus I continued. Finally, I met with the hiring manager and he didn't know I was invited back for an interview (great internal communication). He was not prepared and sat there with my resume rolled up. His questions were so unrelated that I cannot even recall what he asked me. NOTE: To further demonstrate the way this company operates, I was "found" by a recruiting agency and technically they should have received a finder's fee, should I have been hired. In preparation for the second round of interviews, I asked if the hiring company should work through the staffing agency and the HR representative said "we can talk directly and avoid any fees and paperwork."
