I received an automated email inviting me to take a data challenge consisting of two very easy questions. I was given five days to complete the exercise which the email said should not take more than two hours (it could probably be completed in about 10 minutes). I finished it and submitted it through the link from the original email, and received another automated email with a rejection in less than a day, with no feedback. I had a similar experience to the other candidate who reviewed the interview here. Casper must expect candidates to go above and beyond and answer questions they didn't ask, because the dataset is tiny (about 200 records) and the questions are very straightforward.

Question 1
Given a dataset, is return rate trending up or down?
This was the first and only job application ever asked me to do a data challenge without speaking to me first. They just sent me an email and asked me to do it within a week. I always received a phone call with HR or a hiring manager or team leader before receiving a data challenge. The data challenge was very simple and I did it in R and submitted a R markdown file within two days. Although my answers were correct, I still received a rejection email about two days after my submission. I didn't get a chance to speak with anyone or go over my code or any question. This was a very bad experience and I completely wasted my time. Why bothered to send me a data challenge? That just meant this company valued their time more than the candidates.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
I was given a tiny dataset in Excel (less than 250 rows) with only 4 columns, i.e. dateordered, datereturned, orderstatus & orders
Exercise 1: Crunch the data and tell us whether our return rate is trending up or down. Additional insights are welcome, but not required
Exercise 2: Write the SQL code to produce number of completed orders by date

I applied online in mid-June 2018 and was contacted one month later with a request to complete a data challenge. The challenge is the same one that has been described by the other interviewees, containing an analysis piece and code writing piece. Those who complained that they didn't know what else they could do given the small dataset didn't fully understand the data before they completed the analysis (hint: think about the data itself in relation to the question). I was contacted a few days later by the recruiter with an availability request for a phone interview. We had a few back and forth emails to find a proper date, during which the recruiter addressed me by the wrong name (wasn't even close). The phone interview was your typical HR screening and after about 30 minutes I was asked for my availability for a second round phone interview with a member of the team. This phone interview happened the very next day and it involved more technical questions - some of which were hypothetical situations pertaining to the team. This interviewer questioned my experience in Python and seemed surprise that I did not have more than the basics (the application said R or Python preferred and I have good experience in R). Overall, I felt excited about the role and thought I was a good fit. After the second interview, I had sent three emails that went unreturned and finally received a response 1.5 weeks later apologizing for the delay with a note that I would hear back shortly. Over a week after that, I received an email that I was no longer being considered, thanking me for applying and speaking to the recruiter and a person that I did not speak to. Not sure if it's Casper-wide but it left a bad taste in my mouth that the recruiter got my name wrong, got information about my interview wrong, and was unresponsive to emails.

They give an exam for SQL and Excel demonstration, HR phone screening, real team member phone screening, and on-site interview. All the processes were friendly and nice, and the questions were normal and really depending on our own answers.
Really a good interview experience!
