Process is textbook r/recruitinghell. From reading the reviews here, I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that the recruiting team hates doing it like this but has been ordered to do so by the dictatorial, micromanaging CEO (or his management team). Process is topgrading-esque to the extreme, probably put in place by the CEO because the business is struggling and so naturally that must be because they're not hiring "A players" (nothing to do with toxic leadership), and this is how Jack Welch did it so of course, this is the way it should be done. I also bet when the recruiting team flags all of the terrible interview reviews they're getting to leadership they shoo it off, saying that the people who aren't willing to go through a process like this are B and C players, and this is weeding out the bad fits thus serving it's purpose, and it's an employers market so screw 'em. Sigh... sorry to the recruiters here. Excellent way to fill your company with desperate, mediocre hires who only suffer through this slog of a process because they have no other prospects.

The interview process was overly drawnout and repetitive. After applying, you're prompted to complete a writing assignment with 30+ questions focused on your high school experiences. Afterwards, you're scheduled for 5+ interviews who have not shared their feedback with one another.

I did not get to speak to an actual person, but I enjoyed answering the questions they sent over to write in essay form. It gave me time to reflect on my career and the choices made and reflect on what I want it to look like moving forward. It was some sort of therapy, honestly.

Lengthy interview consisting of a written application, answering 20+ questions. I then had an initial phone screen and went on to have some additional virtual interviews with multiple team members. I did not choose to move forward in the process because I got the sense that this role would be extremely micro-managed.
