      Entretien pour Team Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Canonical (Londres, Angleterre) en mars 2023

      Entretien

After applying online through LinkedIn, I heard back quite quickly from a recruiter, emailing through a list of twenty (yep, 20!) questions for the "Written interview and psychometric assessment" (for reference, the full process is: 1. Review of your application materials (done) 2. Written interview and psychometric assessment (this step) 3. Technical assessment and team interviews 4. Hiring manager & senior leadership Interviews 5. Offer) I replied to this email asking for more questions about the role before committing to this process as I wanted to make sure it fit my needs, and wanted to give this the full attention it deserves (which the recruiter admitted in the email that their process "is more detailed and time-consuming than other companies, but it gives us and our candidates a very good grounding for decisions." I never got a reply from my email. Then a new recruiter introduced myself as the old one had left - so fair enough that I didn't get a reply. I then emailed the new recruiter 3 times with no reply over the course of 3 weeks - then she emailed me 3 weeks after my first email saying she closed my application due to not receiving the answers to my written interview, despite not answering my questions or replying at all. Very frustrating process in a difficult job market, no transparency or communication from the recruiter outside of sending a generic email with a list of 20 questions. Having been a recruiter before, I'm genuinely unsure on the value they provide to the company if this is their screening process and fail to communicate with or answer any questions raised by the candidate. I won't be applying to future roles here, especially as the role I'd applied for would need to partner with recruitment and I can't see this as being an effective partnership at all. Hoping this review is not seen as a complaint for the sake of whinging, rather to point out processes that seem to be broken and not in line with speaking to the best-suited candidates, rather candidates who don't have any questions and can write good answers to written questions.
