Friendly at first (offered me espresso, told me about the company, etc), but became cold, a bit snarky, and condescending once the interview started. Lots of trick questions designed to trip you up. At one point I was asked if I had any experience with NPM, because earlier in the interview I said I had worked with React. When I answered that I hadn't worked much with NPM, they acted like they had caught me in a lie, and said "Well, you know React is based on NPM, right?" I personally don't see typing "npm start" and "create-react-app" as being the same as "knowing NPM," but they acted like they had a real "gotcha" moment with me. They asked to see samples of my work, and had clearly not looked at the portfolio I had included with my resume. Acted underwhelmed and unimpressed when I showed them my work portfolio. They also admitted in the interview that they prayed before every staff meeting, and it seemed like there was an expectation that I would participate if I was hired, which I thought was incredibly unprofessional and borderline illegal. Sent me home with homework for a full-stack webapp deployment, even though I had been clear in my resume that my experience was with front-end development. When I couldn't get the back-end set up, despite spending 10 hours on the take-home assignment, they ended the hiring process and cited my inability to deploy the app as the primary reason. The job ad did not mention app deployment as a skill they were seeking.
