Just wrapped up the most bizarre data mining interview of my life.
The "We Don't Use Data" Company: Started with a 2-hour presentation on how they don't believe in data-driven decisions. "Gut feeling" is king, apparently.
The "Code-First" Riddle: Was given a coding challenge involving a complex algorithm... on a whiteboard. No laptops, no testing. Just pure, unadulterated mental gymnastics.
The "Guess My Salary" Game: The interviewer, mid-rant about the evils of machine learning, casually asked me to guess his salary. I politely declined, feeling increasingly uncomfortable.
The "You're Overqualified" Jolt: Despite having a relevant background and aced the (ridiculous) challenges, the interviewer kept dropping hints that I was "too experienced" for their entry-level position.
Needless to say, I'm officially scarred.
