This company is notorious for ghosting candidates that are very far into the process and have been made to take length unpaid edit tests. Especially the commerce team. Avoid like the plague.

I applied for the associate Commerce Editor position at Bustle. I was first contacted for a quick phone interview with the hiring manager, which went well. She then sent me an edit test--I cannot over-emphasize how inappropriately enormous this thing was. It took many, many hours of unpaid labor and was due at a very quick turnover. I sent it in and literally heard nothing--never even confirmation that the assignment had been received. I followed up twice and have heard radio silence. It's fine that I didn't get the position (or even an in-person interview) but just to be ghosted after investing so much time into an assignment is pretty tacky.
