      Entretien pour General Manager

      6 nov. 2020
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Washington, DC
      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Bond Collective (Washington, DC) en oct. 2020

      Entretien

After two rounds of preliminary interviews via phone and zoom (that went very well), they requested that I physically come into the DC location for an in-person interview (during the middle of COVID-19) with the CEO, Shlomo. This third and final interview with the CEO was supposed to identify whether or not I was a “culture fit” for the organization. Culture fit interviews have been widely critiqued for their inherent discriminatory nature, so there is that. I’ll also preface that Bond Collective’s diversity statement shares that Bond “is an anti-racist space. We stand in solidarity with, and deeply value, our black and POC communities, members and guests.” Ironically, when you look at the company's website, they only have TWO *current* employees that are people of color. The CEO showed up to the interview 40 minutes late, didn’t apologize, took two phone calls during the interview, and spent most of the time asking me questions about the CEO of my former company, rather than me, the interviewee. It was clear from the beginning of the interview that the CEO was not invested in the conversation. Which made me question why they wasted my time and put me in harm's way by asking me to come down to interview in-person. To make matters worse, the CEO informed me after the interview was over that I would hear back within a few days about whether I received the job or not, but that didn't happen. I waited a week and received no communication from the hiring manager or the CEO. I then followed up and was met with the response that the company decided to move forward with another candidate and to keep them in mind for future positions. Lastly, when I went to Glassdoor to type this review, I noticed that Bond Collective recently re-posted the General Manager job less than 24 hours ago on the website. So much for that other candidate… After my experience with the team and the conversations we had, obviously, I will not be applying to future positions with the company and urge whoever reads this to consider whether or not they would like to be apart of an organization with this type of leadership at the top. Very poorly executed.
