_Summary_
The interview process with Blue Origin is very similar to interviewing with any other aerospace company. Their ask up front for deliverables and time commitment is on the high end of the scale. The engineering team really transfers their passion for the mission to you with competence and professionalism. Unfortunately, the disrespectful and unprofessional conduct of the HR team is leaves a lot to be desired.
_Process Details_
You apply through Workday, HR screens you, and then you have a panel interview with Engineering.
You are asked to take a day off of your current job and commit to what amounts to effectively a full day interview. Also, Blue Origin also asks for a few deliverables up front: a personal statement on your thoughts regarding space flight and a slide deck for a presentation given to the Engineering panel.
The panel interview starts with a 1 hour presentation regarding a past task relevant to the position for which you are applying. You then have several break-outs of 30-45 minutes with individuals of the panel. Questions range from technical to behavioral. No surprises.
_HR Interface Details_
Speaking from my experience, Blue Origin's HR team conducts themselves in a way that leaves a lot of room for improvement. Examples of this unprofessional behavior include: inability to respond to emails, unavailability to speak by phone, and non-answers regarding pay range and other key attributes regarding the position. This behavior occurred before and after the interview.
_Net Takeaway_
Very disappointed in HR, but I wish the engineering team success.
