The Excel round is ridiculous - they expect detailed organization of the data and an entire report section with proper formatting, charts, and quantitative insights on the spot within 1 hour. If you are late even by 3-4 minutes, they apparently do not accept the assessment. At a mid-level or experienced position, this is an unbelievable way to assess somebody's skillset and technical knowledge based on a singular dataset where candidates can easily cheat or get somebody else to help them out. Furthermore, the 1-hour urgency is pointless as the kind of exercise they allocate is usually worth an entire day of analysis and carefully articulating that analysis takes more time than an hour. Organizing the process like a competitive CAT exam serves no purpose of valuably assessing people's actual knowledge and experience.
