I found it incredibly difficult to get a follow-up from anyone. After submitting samples of work and being told that everything looks very positive, I was then told that the organization had a restructure and the role is no longer being filled. However, the role is still available on their careers page and edited recently.

The process was quick. The recruiter was very friendly and helpful and sounded like he wanted me to succeed. There is a part of the skills that is a "nice to have" but not required, he assured that my not having that "nice to have" would not be a problem. When I interviewed with two people for this position that someone left at first they seemed engaged, however 5 minutes in, their eyes absolutely glazed over. He asked me if I had this "nice to have skill" and then proceeded to tell me how all of the other people they were talking to did have that. When I told him I had transferable skills that would apply to that "nice to have" he said "I know, that's why we're talking to you". Absolute assholery. After that he started doing something else (I'm going to assume he was taking notes) and it was just entirely obvious. PEOPLE CAN TELL WHEN YOU'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO THE INTERVIEWEE. The lady interviewing me asked me several questions. but then decided to look down to her phone. It was incredibly disrespectful. I immediately emailed the recruiters and withdrew my candidacy.
