Interviewing with this company is the most frustrating thing ever! First of all, they were looking for a creative person to fill the position. I come from a design background, so of course I'm creative. In the first interview, they were telling me how difficult it would be for me to transition from a design background to the Bass Pro aesthetic. I was utterly confused, because first of all they were making a cold judgment about me. Who are they to say that I'm not going to adjust? Second of all, did the job description not say they were looking for a creative person? I brought in a visual portfolio for them, which im sure was unexpected. I had a total of three separate interviews with the company, in which all of them there were two people in the room. In my first interview, the visual merchandising manager asked all of the questions, while some newly hired guy that was up in management was making irrelevant comments about me coming from a design background. He then proceeded to check his email during the interview!! How unprofessional is that? I should have quit the interview process after that one because all of it was a waste of time. I am proud to say that I found a visual merchandising position with a more prestigious company that appreciates my creativity. Your loss Bass Pro.
