I was invited to do an initial phone screen and then a virtual interview. The phone screen went wonderfully but the virtual interview was strange. The recruiter immediately had a discouraging approach due to their concern that I couldn’t go from full time to part time for the role. However, my lifestyle needed part time hours. I just thought it was weird and unprofessional to assume that I wouldn’t be a good fit due to that—especially when I was technically a bit overqualified for the role due to my experience. They said I’d hear back the following week and I never did.
