I applied for the Analyst Programmer role at Bangkok Bank in early September. The job description was quite general — it mentioned 2–3 years of experience in C# / VB.NET, ASP.NET, Java, JavaScript, MS SQL, Oracle, and other web-based applications. Since I had experience with some of those technologies, I decided to apply.
HR contacted me around the end of the month for an interview, which I understood might be due to their internal process or workload.
However, when I attended the interview, it seemed like the line manager hadn’t even read my résumé. He mentioned that the role didn’t have any specific project assignment and that I would “need to handle various systems,” but everything he said was quite vague. He also brought up technologies like AS400 and COBOL, which were never mentioned in the job description.
During the interview, interviewers kept answering phone calls and yawn, which felt very unprofessional and disrespectful to the candidate. Overall, it gave me the impression that they weren’t serious about hiring.
Advice to others: Don’t waste your time — the whole experience was disorganized and unprofessional.
