I applied online, got an email to do the video interview, then heard a week or two later that I would do a phone interview. During the phone call, the recruiter asked if I had other offers and I said "no, but I am in the process of applying to other places." She said "that's ok, let us know if we need to speed anything up if you get an offer."
Everything was great until the end; the in-person interviewers were nice, attentive, cordial. I ended up getting an offer at another company, so I called BECU on Wednesday and asked if I could hear feedback early so that I could decide whether I should hold out for BECU. The recruiter said I was the top candidate, then stuttered a little and said I was one of the top candidates, and that she could get back to me by EOD Thursday. I said ok. On Thursday I called and asked if she heard anything and she said she would get back to me by 11am Friday. At this point I declined my other offer because I don't like to leave people hanging and I had assured them I would respond by EOD Thursday. I was very excited about BECU so I took that chance, based on the recruiter's assurance that I was one of the top candidates.
Friday around 1pm I got an email saying they would go in a different direction and that no other feedback could be provided.
I still like BECU as a whole, but I felt there was a major inconsistency in my interactions with the recruiter. She knew I had a job offer I needed to respond to. She said I was a top candidate and that she would get back to me within a day. The former is now irrelevant, and the latter was untrue. I'm left wondering if BECU tells its recruiters to keep people on the hook by saying vaguely promising things without any actual promise.

The recruiter, Patricia, was very friendly and professional. I felt cared for as a candidate as she walked me through the hiring process. The second interview with two branch managers was about 30 minutes via video.

The interview process was overall a natural conversation! :) I was interviewed by 2 people so I am not sure if that’s the usual process but I got a really serious interviewer alongside with another one who encourages you to bring your personality to the interview which I think was a great balance! I initially thought I screwed up my interview and even admitted to being nervous because I so was just so honored to even be considered. Turns out they called me back for another interview and I have been here a few weeks and LOVE it already! I wish I knew about them before any other Job I had.

Basic interviews questions but they will be able to tell if you are authentic in your examples. So be sure to use moments that you feel proud of your work in.
