I interviewed for a BD role in Bengaluru last year. Coming from Tier 1 SAAS company , The process ended after an initial discussion of around 20 minutes. After attending the discussion, I was informed that the company would not proceed with further interview rounds. The part I found disappointing was the lack of clarity before asking me to attend in person. In my view, this type of early screening could have been handled remotely, especially if the team was still deciding whether to start a full interview process. I would suggest that the company communicate the interview stage more clearly upfront and invite candidates onsite only when there is a confirmed interview plan
