Applied through company website. I was emailed by HR who scheduled a video phone interview. The interview went very well. The HR rep was attentive, and shared an overview of the company, their culture and the expectations of the role. Unfortunately, the recruitment for the role was paused because of departmental restructure

Why Axonify?, How does the role align with your experience? Do you work with clients, and what's your experience like?
It strikes me as a huge mistake for companies to have their recruiter who has little to no experience building software, ask technical questions to a candidate with years of experience building products. It sets up a scenario whereby the recruiter has to stick to a script, and the entire thing is mechanical and robotic. The only people qualified to dive into the details of "how would you do XYZ" questions are people who have done it before eg. the hiring manager, team members.
The interviewer made comments that were rude and defensive; in scenarios where she didn't understand my answers or the format of my responses. This is unprofessional and frankly a disservice to the process, the company, and the interviewer.
