One initial phone screen with a recruiter. A video call with two managers. A week-long coding exercise that seems to want to do too many things. Followed by a review meeting with the whole team. They claimed to want to assess autonomy and team work, requesting that I spend about a week on the project, and get team buy-in on my implementation. None of the team members were responsive outside of providing non-answers like "what do you think?" to every question. A final recruiter call with an offer that did not match the expectations laid out in the first call. I left the interview process feeling like I was led on and interviewed by a team that seemed to be trying to check off boxes instead of getting to know me. For Auth0: Remember that your candidates are also interviewing you and that if you don't answer questions on a team-based exercise, it doesn't reflect well on you as an engineering organization.
