      Entretien

First I received a surprise call/interview from HR. They asked questions like "Why did you apply for this position?" and "Wouldn't you be interested in another role?" After two unexpected interviews, I was invited to meet with the potential supervisor. It turned out to be the most unusual interview of my life because the interviewer didn't ask me a single question. Instead, they described the position and what they were looking for, completely disregarding my experience and what I could contribute. I had to take the initiative, trying to actively engage and respond to their explanations and trying to demonstrate how well I would fit in and . It didn't feel like a serious and professional interview at all; rather, it seemed like they had already made up their mind and had no real interest in considering me. I'm left wondering what could have caused this lack of interest right from the beginning of the interview.

The process began by using the HireVue automated interview system. I withdrew my application at this stage. The HireVue system focussed on theoretical questions about the field I was applying for (Program Management). I found the experience awful overall, it is horribly unnatural trying to talk to your own face on a screen, with no opportunity to ask clarifying questions or to read an interviewer's body language to give you immediate feedback. I withdrew my application after the interview - an interview is an opportunity for the company to shine and demonstrate their values, as well as for the interviewee to do the same. The only values demonstrated by this tool are completely negative imo: that the organisation is impersonal and that you will be treated as such, and that they cannot be bothered to spend time with you even at the point when they are trying to sell themselves.
